This place use to be a liquor store at Showa era (built in 1931). Now the building is a national tangible cultural property. While you spend time in here drinking and eating, in an authentic traditional Japanese atmosphere and every detail of architecture will amuse you.

Elegant cooking uses seasonal ingredients. Visually amusing presentation. Nice and quiet restaurant. Lunch is also available.

Enjoy Soba noodle w/ local ingredients, such as boiled whitebaits and sakura shrimps. Alongside of Soba, must try famous one of a kind "Katsu-sara " which is fried pork w/ original sweet egg sauce on rice. A combo plate, you can enjoy both Katsu-sara and Soba.

Miso-Ramen. Miso is one of the most important soybean foods in Japan. In this shop, You can choose from three different types of miso from different areas. One is from Hokkaido, the others are from Shinshu (Nagano) and Kyushu. Each has its own distinct aroma and taste.

One of the oldest Yakiniku restaurant near Fuji Station, most locals know. Recently moved to small place due to redevelopment of Fuji Station area. Good quality. Reasonable price.
AKARIYA
Korean style BBQ. Lots of unique menu such as hand wrapped yakiniku, Samgyeopsal- Korean Pork Belly BBQ, Natkopse (낙곱새) - octopus, organ meat and shrimps cooked in a pot and more. Very filling portion and very fun place. The owner is from Korea and very friendly. The 1st floor is a macaron shop.

Sunpu is a small, local izakaya that serves carefully prepared dishes and Shizuoka-made sake "Shosetu."
The stewed tripe, stewed beef tendon, stewed satoimo (a Japanese taro) and grilled squid are recommended.

One and only oyster bar in Fuji city. Here you can taste fresh Japanese oysters from various places. The drink menu is also great. Owner is a stained glass artist, had lived in California, and loves American music.

This small spanish bar is unique. Mainly serves spanish dishes such as Salpicón de mariscos (Seafood salad), Albondigas (meat balls), Gambas al ajillo (Garlic shrimp), Jamón Ibérico (Iberian ham), and tarta de queso (Burnt Basque Cheesecake). If you want try something different, spend some time at UWE (pronounce wu-ve ).
